We Always Choose To Choose

making a choice

“Freedom means you are unobstructed in living your life as you choose. Anything less is a form of slavery”

-Wayne Dyer (1940-2015)

Motivational speaker & Author

We’ve got our beautiful destinies to craft, but then again it’s a free world,

Sometimes external pressures can stress us out even to the wild,

But up to the moment of choice, our true authentic self is yet to be found,

But we always have a choice to choose,

You choose what to study, wear, think and say,

You always choose…everyday
Everyway

But we always have a choice to choose,

You walk, work and wink…
Swim, have fun and think…

In a deepest pit of confusion we may sink,

But we always have a choice to choose,

Sometimes we strive to focus amidst vast disturbances,

But we can always choose how to control our circumstances,

Our life code is determined by our decisions upon our prevalent instances,

But we always have a choice to choose,

You’re always at a best vantage point to choose,

What to discard, upgrade or infuse,

To brand a sad mood, nasty response, disheartening look or even to amuse,

But we always have a choice to choose,

To maximize our time on useful ventures or squander it all having fun,

Just like birds flying all over the sun,

At times it’s even best to flip around and embrace a turn,

But we always have a choice to choose,

It all commences with our tiny daily decisions,

As a countdown to our prime path to our mission,

And crafting your lifetime vision,

But we always have a choice to choose,

Choose life!

  2. This was beautifully written, Vincent, and you are quite correct in that we always have a choice even in the most dire situation. I tried to impart this to my very seriously mentally ill clients when I worked in the field. They already made a wise choice to come and see me. Voila!

  3. In the movie Mr. Nobody the film explores how not making a choice or postponing a choice is in itself a choice. So the beauty of it is no matter what we do, we do something!

Well thought out poem, I think our education, upbringing and life experiences can really open the way to live a good, honest, and humble life.

  4. Great Vincent, this indeed is the foundation of life. One chooses to be who he wants to be, a kind of freedom that needs no or less advice… you are such great poet.
